For most, the Holiday season brings peace and joy. A time to celebrate with friends and family. For some, it can mean another not-so-silent night; a violent night. Domestic violence forces many families to leave their home and spend the Holidays seeking refuge.

Spending the holidays at a shelter is different for every survivor. For some, it’s a sense of relief, for others a sense of panic and fear about what the future holds. Forbes House is busy this holiday season providing a safe place to stay, giving the security and reassurance needed to recover from the trauma of domestic violence. Survivors here have gone far too long without a silent peaceful night of sleep and rest in knowing they won't wake-up to verbal, physical, sexual or financial abuse again.
